Aleees announced new Olivine compounds named LFP-NCO

Attracting world attention, the AABC and Symposia 2009 got off to a brilliant start on June 8. To attract the world's Tier-1 auto makers, system management and battery-related companies to come together exhibiting their latest high-end models. The Exhibitors in AABC09 including Toyota, Honda, EnerDel, A123 Systems, Compact Power, Aleees, Exxon Mobil, Enerdel, SK Energy, All Cell Technologies, Valence Technologies, GS Yuasa, Powergenix, Celgard, and Arkema Inc.

At a time when global warming, ice melt, polar bears homeless, energy crisis, petrol prices rising, the development of electric cars has become a popular sport around the world. One of the most important parts - battery of electric cars is the primary topic of each auto makers.

One of the most asked companies is Aleees from Asia, this is their first exhibition in AABC and holds one of the biggest booths. Aleees announces a new type of olivine structure as cathode material named LFP-NCO on June 9th symposia. Professed LFP-NCO (LiFePO4.zMO’) solves the low conductivity from traditional LFP material and enhances the performance, attributes to the reduction in impurity of LiFePO4 (Fe+3 à Fe+2 , prevents the iron ion precipitation), maintains the consistency of material and also lower the cost significantly by its patented technology of co-crystallizing with metal oxide.

Aleees said “ The supply chain of Lithium ion batteries have  long been in Asia, and we get the geographical advantage. Aleees devoted itself to the development of break-through LFP-NCO(LiFePO4‧M’)material, mass production technologies and global patent deployment since its establishment in 2005. Leveraging on advanced mass production technologies, Aleees cooperates with more than 30 lithium battery supply chain partners in Asia to provide cost-effective motive lithium batteries in great quality to push the revolution in auto industry for providing the affordable electric vehicles  and fighting global warming crisis! So that consumers no longer need to pay extra for environmentally-friendly cost. “

Lithium iron phosphate cathode material is an olivine-structure compound and a semi-conductor material. When it was developed in 1996, it was N-type semi-conductor, it couldn’t be used for lithium ion commercial application because of its shortage of electrons, few electrical holes, low capacity and poor conductivity.

After 2001, the compound LFP was dramatically changed, other kinds of p-type semi-conductor were unveiled. Doping or coating methods were used to modify the non-commercial N-type LFP to the P-type semi-conductor which has more electric holes and less electrons, which increases conductivity one million times, to meet the commercial demand.

Aleees developed LFP-NCO cathode material as a kind of p-type semi-conductor in 2007. NCO exists in lattices of LFP, metal Oxide is co-crystallized with LiFePO4 in a solid solution , so a lattice effect is created and it is evenly dispersed over the material。 This raises conductivity one million times and increases the capacity to 155mAh/g. Metal oxide not only solves the problem of inconsistency in product quality by controlling the ratio of iron 2 valence but also prevents Iron ion precipitation (Life Cycle Problem) on the anode; this is very helpful in raising the life cycle of a cell a thousand times.

Besides this,

NCO does not use the traditional doping or coating process to become a P-type semi-conductor, so the production procedure is simplified and cost savings are made.

NCO is the best solution for power lithium ion cells because of its great-performance and low-cost advantages.

About Aleees –

Aleees devoted itself to the development of break-through

LFP-NCO(LiFePO4‧M’)material, mass production

technologies and global patent deployment since its

establishment in 2005. Leveraging on advanced mass

production technologies, Aleees cooperates with

lithium battery supply chain partners in Asia to provide

cost-effective motive lithium batteries in great quality to

push the revolution in auto industry for fighting global warming crisis!

In addition to deploying the stringent cost control, Aleees implements 6-sigma, ISO9001, ISO14001, quality system (closely following GMP and ISO17025) to provide a stable product quality assurance. In hope to change the cost-oriented mainstream auto industry to use electricity to replace gasoline as energy source, Aleees works on several fundamental science projects on LFP-NCO techniques with Asia partners. Our main partners include National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC) in Taiwan, many renowned China universities and RD of top ten battery manufacturers in China.

Aleees is the code of NCO solution, and what we provide are AffordableLFP EmpoweredElectricalEnergySystems to the world.
